New York is a Direct Access State, meaning you do not need a referral. There are no insurance limitations and no long-term scheduling commitments.
Our Process
At Rochester Integrated Medicine, we aim to provide more accessibility to fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle guidance, in addition to Physical Therapy, because we believe that injury rehabilitaion goes well beyond addressing the singular body part or impairment.

Under our Integrated model, patients have the opportunity of working with the Chiropractor on the same day as their physical therapy appointments. We have found that the collaborative approach yields tremendous benefits during the rehabilitation process.
Who Can Benefit From Physical Therapy?
After an injury or illness, or when you have a physical disability, you may benefit from a variety of methods that help restore movement and improve your quality of life.

At Rochester Integrated Medicine, we provide rehabilitation for issues with muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves, and bones to help you regain mobility and minimize pain.

We provide patients of all ages with evidence-based physical exercises and therapies, so they can get back to living their lives and doing the things they enjoy.
What Advantages Does Physical Therapy Provide?
In addition to regaining mobility, improving function, and managing pain, physical therapy also focuses on helping you prevent further complications as you recover.

You may need physical therapy for several conditions at once, and therefore need a multidisciplinary approach to your care. If you don’t fully recover from an existing condition, or make progress toward a more mobile, pain-free lifestyle, you can easily develop secondary physical issues.

Our team takes a medical approach to address the underlying causes of your medical condition or injury so we can work together toward your complete rehabilitation. We are as concerned with your overall health and well-being as we are with managing your pain.
What Types of Therapeutic Exercise Can I Expect?
Everyone’s condition and circumstances are different, and our medical team will create a customized physical therapy plan that works best for your unique needs and health goals.

Typically, rehabilitation after injury or illness includes:
-
A functional exam to customize your therapeutic exercise routine, in which we note any functional impairments and help you accomplish daily tasks.
-
Therapeutic exercise for regaining strength, mobility, and range of motion.
-
Conservative, non-narcotic pain treatment and management.
First, we may start you with some simple movements or exercises. As you gain strength and the pain becomes more tolerable, your exercises increase. You may feel like you’re doing a lot of hard work at times, but we monitor your progress each step of the way and prescribe a combination of therapies and movements that contribute to your overall recovery in a healthy and effective manner.
